Strand 1:Â Number
Sub-Strand 1:Â Counting, Representation, Cardinality & Ordinality
CONTENT STANDARD 1:Â Demonstrate an understanding of quantities and place value for multi-digit numerals up to 1,000, 000,000 or 1 billion
INDICATORS AND EXEMPLARS 1:Â Model number quantities up to 1,000,000 using graph sheets and multi-base block
E.g.1. Ask pupils to model number quantities up to 1,000,000 using graph sheets or multi-base materials. For instance, with multi-base block, a cube = 1000 unit; a rod = 10,000; a flat = 100,000 and a block = 1,000,000; learners model 436,000 with the appropriate materials

In question 1 , we learnt and answered questions using the multi-base material where we represented numbers with the multi-base material.
In this question, it is the vice-versa meaning we are going to tell what number is represented in a multi-base material.
Example:
What number is represented in the multi-base material below?
From the above base, there are 5 flats, 6 rod or long and 8 cubes. So therefore, by written and expanding it will be like:
5 x 100 000 + 6 x 10 000 + 8 x 1 000 = 568 000.
I hope you understood it.Â
